Christmas Gift Guide

I’m an avid reader of the annual Sheerluxe Christmas gift guide and love nothing more than gifting a beautifully selected and wrapped present. So, this year, I thought I would share some of the items that I’ve seen and saved in case you’re yet to tick everyone off your list. I’ve tried to steer clear of the usual ‘for him’ and ‘for her’ and socks most definitely didn’t make the cut.

For the whole family

First up, if you’re buying for the whole family, there are two clear winners for me - a game or a hamper.

Games aren’t typically pretty. In fact, they often get pushed to the back of a cupboard, making their annual debut over the festive season. However, the team at Not Another Bill have outdone themselves on the aesthetic games front. Their Backgammon Roll (£49) comes in a choice of four colourways and they also have a choice of 500 / 100 Piece Puzzles (£23.80) that would make a welcome addition to any table top.

Alternatively, I would suggest a hamper. They’re crowd pleasers and the recipient gets a beautiful wicker basket to keep after indulging in the contents over twixmas. If you’re on a budget, make your own by ordering an empty wicker basket (£27.99) and fill it with treats such as Torres truffle crisps (£23.50 for 4), Perello olives (£12.80 for 4), Tonys Chocolonely's (£10 for a selection pack) and Easy Liquor cocktail cans (£20 for 4). Or, if you’ve got a little more to spend, opt for the Not Another Bill build your own hamper or Daylesford’s signature gift hamper (£110).

For the drinks connoisseurs

If you’re buying for a cocktail or mocktail fan, I’d opt for a Personalised Cocktail Set (£55). Or, if it’s just a stocking filler, Easy Liquor Cocktail Cans (£20 for 4) are 10/10.

If the recipient is partial to a whiskey or other tipples best served in a low ball glass, I love these Metal Globe Drinks Coolers (£9).

Finally, if you’re no wine buff but you want to get something special, Laurent-Perrier is the gold standard when it comes to Champagne. In my humble opinion. Supermarkets stock their entry level fizz, but visit The Bottle Club if you’re after a bottle that’s more unique such as Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle.

For the interior lovers

Christmas, twixmas and New Year’s promise endless days of entertaining. So, tableware is a safe bet for those that rejoice in hostiing the festivities. I adore Not Another Bill’s Linen Napkins (£12) and Colombia Collective’s Lobster Napkin Rings (£55). And Addison Ross’ Bobbin Salt & Pepper Mills (£58) come in a range of beautiful colours. The dark cherry is going on my wish list!

Along with cushions and candles, house proud folk can never have too many throws. For a traditional look, I would suggest Daylesford’s Margate Wool Throw (£100). Or for a pop of colourful pattern, check out this Wool Checkered Throw (£80), available in blue or chilli.

For the chefs

Whether an amateur or professional, a good knife is a staple for the chef of the family. And Katto’s 8.5" Chefs knife (£150) is up there as the best of the best. Recipient already kitted out on the knife front? Our Place make the most aesthetically pleasing cookware, including their popular Always Pan 2.0 (£130). Or if you’re pushing the boat out, my foodie friends rave about the Gozney Roccbox Pizza Oven (£319.20).

If it’s a stocking filler or Secret Santa purchase, you can’t go wrong with Truffle Guys’ Signature Truffle Dust (£12.70).

For the green-fingered

Daylesford is to gardeners what Prime was to teenage boys a couple of years ago.

A few ideas that are practical but also beautiful - their Sussex Oval Trug (£125), which is great for cut flowers, veggies or herbs, their Jute Utility Bag (£45), or if the recipient has a beautiful potting shed or greenhouse, their Oak Stand and Jute Twine (£29).

For the little ones

Jellycat has developed something of a cult like following in recent years, so a personalised Jellycat Bashful Bunny (£23) is a good shout for little ones. And for the font snobs out there like me, Not Another Bill have a great selection.

Meri Meri are the GOAT when it comes to fancy dress. And every single item - whether more masculine or feminine - is genuinely beautiful. My personal favourite is the Meri Meri Gold Sparkle Cape Costume (£75).

Now…this one isn’t neccesarily the most aesthetic but the reviews speak volumes. And it’s wooden. And primary colour free. It’s the Melissa and Doug Wooden Ice Cream Shop (£39.99).

Finally, a little Alphabet Cup (£6) is the perfect stocking filler and can be used as a great pencil pot or toothbrush holder if you’re cupboards are already full to the brim.
